At The Azmat A. Assur Foundation, our mission is to empower students across Puerto Rico through education and resources, enabling them to reach their fullest potential. We believe that education is the foundation for personal growth, responsible citizenship, and lasting community impact. Our work focuses on providing access to quality learning opportunities for students of all ages, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to thrive. By fostering engaged, informed, and compassionate individuals, we aim to inspire a new generation of leaders who will strengthen their communities and create positive change across the island.

HOW WE WORK

We strive to broaden the horizons of curious minds, instilling in them the belief that all of their aspirations can be attainable.

Scholarships

We provide scholarships to students across Puerto Rico, from elementary school through master’s degree programs, with a special emphasis on studies in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Our scholarships are a mix of need-based and merit-based awards, ensuring that talented and motivated students of all backgrounds have the opportunity to pursue their educational goals. By supporting learners at every stage, we aim to open doors to advanced study, inspire academic excellence, and prepare the next generation of STEM leaders.

Grants

Our grants fund innovative programming that inspires students to explore STEM fields and supports educators in delivering high-quality STEM instruction. From hands-on learning experiences to teacher development initiatives, these grants are designed to spark curiosity, build skills, and foster a lifelong interest in science and technology. By equipping teachers with the tools and knowledge they need, we amplify our impact—ensuring more students are introduced to the possibilities of STEM from an early age.

STEM Infrastructure & Innovation

Through our STEM Infrastructure & Innovation investments, we strengthen the resources and environments where students learn. This includes funding for labs, computers, digital infrastructure, and other opportunities that support hands-on exploration and skill-building. These investments create the conditions for meaningful learning and help bridge the gap between classroom instruction and real-world STEM experiences, ensuring that every student has access to the tools they need to succeed.
